Leaf water potential for surface and subsurface drip irrigated bell pepper under various deficit irrigation strategies

چکیده

Increased water scarcity necessitates the implementation of water-conserving irrigation management practices to sustain crop production, especially in water-limited areas. Field experiments were conducted evaluate midday leaf potential (LWP) bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L. var. annuum) irrigated differentially using surface drip (DI) and subsurface (SDI) systems during 2016 2017 growing seasons eastern Mediterranean environmental conditions. The treatments considered deficit irrigations (I50, I75), regulated (RDI), partial root-zone drying (PRD50) full (I100) under DI SDI systems. experimental design was completely randomized a split-plot system with four replicates per treatment. Deficit I75 I50 received 75% 50% I100, respectively; RDI supplied I100 vegetative growth stage until flowering, then 100% requirement; PRD50 plots I100. Bell plant status estimated by LWP. Higher LWP values determined for two than I75, I50, PRD50; correlated significantly (P < 0.01) negatively fresh yield, DM area index (LAI), mean soil content all these relations are best described curvilinear equations. In conclusion, should be at between -0.89 -0.95 MPa without any yield reduction. It is also concluded that appear good alternatives sustainable production

Lint yield and seed quality response of drip irrigated cotton under various levels of water

Restricted water resources are a limiting factor for irrigation applications throughout the world. The effects of irrigation regimes (amount) on cotton lint yield are known, but there is little information on the effect of irrigation regimes on seed quality of cotton. In this study, the effects of deficit irrigation after the onset of flowering on lint yield and seed quality of cotton (Gossypiu...

Effect of deficit irrigation on crop growth, yield and quality of onion in subsurface drip irrigation

Indiahas the largest area under onion (Allium cepa) crop but its average productivity (14.21 t ha-1) is considerably lower than the world’s average of 19.4 t ha-1. Besides low productivity, irrigation efficiencies are also very low i.e. 30-35% in India. Managing onion crop with less than adequate irrigation water availability is a challenge in several parts of the country. Options of i) deficit...
